Last time in this space, I suggested that God is more interested in changing us than changing our circumstances. Is there any evidence of this in the scriptures?

Yes – read what the Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 1:8-9 –

 

⁸  For we do not want you to be unaware, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life; ⁹  indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;

 

Who are you trusting? Yourself or God who created the heavens and the earth; who has the power to raise the dead; who loves you?
